As program leaders think about the purpose of the program, it’s important to understand the goals of the organization
Being able to tie work back to organization goals enables the program to understand its impact to the organization

This procedure will show you how to review the organization's top goals using the work tree in Jira Align.

Learn how to review organizational strategy

From the Program menu, navigate to the Work Tree page
1. Set the context configuration to Program = <this program>, Program Increment = <current PI>
2. Click on the Tree View drop down in the upper left and select “Strategy View”
3. Click the Snapshot drop down in the upper left and select the appropriate snapshot
4. Click on the “+” next to the goal (e.g. Theme OKR) to expand to the features in the PI for the program
5. Review each goal to see where the program is making an impact
  1. Ask: How is our work currently impacting our goals?

Output and next steps

Update the vision of the program to better align with the organization's goals and begin reviewing the backlog
